Austerlitz – Battle of the Three Emperors
Each year thousands of tourists come to Austerlitz and its surroundings at the beginning of December to commemorate the anniversary of famous "Battle of the Three Emperors". On December 2, 1805, allied Russian - Austrian armies fought with French army of the Emperor Napoleon I. Famous leader defeated the allied forces thanks to his far-sighted command; this victory is considered as his most famous one.

Boskovice
Boskovice is considered as the city since the second half of the 18th century. In the 13th century, after the establishment of Gothic castle, Boskovice spread as market settlement under this castle.
One of the most romantic Moravian ruins surpasses in the steep slope above the city. The castle was founded most probably at the end of the 13th century as family seat of powerful house of Lords of Boskovice. Later, the house of Dietrichstein gained Boskovice manor; poorly accessible castle ceased to be satisfactory for them. Therefore, in the first half of the 18th century was established a new building, called Residence, nowadays the seat of Boskovice museum. Finally, another seat was established - elegant Empire castle.

Botanic Garden
Botanic garden is situated in the premises of Faculty of Science of Masaryk University. You can see there greenhouses with tropical and subtropical plants, meditative places with fountains and stone compositions designed by the sculptor Jan Šimek.

Brno Recevoir
"Prygl", as Brno Reservoir is called even today in the local slang, was constructed in the years 1936-40, by afloating of the village Kníničky. Lake with the total area equaling to 252 ha and length 10 km is kept by the dam long “only“ 120 m. Brno Reservoir is popular recreational area - in summer for swimming and fishing, in winter for cross-country skiing and ice-skating. Ambient woods, surrounding the Reservoir, are excellent for walking tours or cycling. Monumental castle “Veveří“ you can find above the Reservoir; regular boat transport goes there from May to September.

Castle Pernštejn
In the South Moravia, in the county Žďár nad Sázavou, a grandiose castle Pernštejn surpasses in the high rock. It ranks to the historical jewels of the Czech Republic thanks to its unusual and fresh beauty. Its origins date back to the 13th century; nevertheless, the castle belongs among the most preserved castle buildings in our country as it has never been seized or destroyed by the wars.

Castle Veveří
Castle Veveří stands up between the woods of Brno Reservoir. Its origins go back to the 11th century, when the knight Kunrád used it as hunting castle. The castle changed its owners during the centuries and went through complicated building development.
At present time, representatives of National Monument Office try to return the castle its original shape; thus, visitors have the possibility see gradual large reconstruction of the whole premises.

Jaroš Mill - Museum of Flour-Milling Trade
Unique original milling equipment is preserved in the mill; world famous company of Jos. Prokop and sons, Pardubice delivered it, installed in the mill and put into operation as sample order. Jaroš mill with its all-wood equipment has been proclaimed as cultural monument by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. At present time, the mill is opened for public as the museum of flour-milling trade. Monastery Rosa Coeli in Dolní Kounice
Village Dolní Kounice is situated twenty-five kilometers south-west from Brno. In the year 1181 Vilém from Pulín established Premonstratensian monastery for women monastic rule. In the years 1330-1390 the monastery acquired its contemporary Gothic shape. During the centuries, the building was burnt-out several times and devastated; fire in the year 1703 fiercely finished any attempts for the reconstruction. From the monastery Rosa Coeli (Heaven’s Rose) remained preserved only Romantic fragments of the building; nevertheless, even today it is used for various cultural events.

Convent Porta Coeli in Předklášteří u Tišnova
Not far from the city Tišnov is situated women Cistercian convent Porta Coeli (Heaven’s Gate). A widow of the Czech king Premysl Otakar I., queen Constance, established it in the year 1233. The convent represented the important centre of culture and education for the whole territory. Convent was destroyed for several times during centuries; nevertheless, it was always renewed. Current shape of the convent is formed by the complex of buildings arranged into square with dominant Gothic-Roman church of the Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary. Above all, remarkable Gothic portal attracts the attention of the visitors at its gate.
Today, several nuns live in the convent, and in the provost building is the seat of Podhorácké muzeum with rich mineralogical collection.

Kroměříž
Kroměříž is one of the most beautiful towns in Moravia. Who chooses this town as the target of the trip, he/she can visit Archbishop castle, Castle Garden, Floral Garden, bishop mint or local museum, where is the permanent exhibition of Max Švabinský Monument at present time. The complex of gardens and castle in Kroměříž is since the year 1995 National Cultural Monument of the Czech Republic; furthermore, since December 1998 is registered in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Lednice - Valtice Cultural Landscape
Picturesque environs of Břeclav, between villages Lednice and Valtice, also called Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape, represents a model of unique land-art and nature shape. Lednice castle went through several reconstructions throughout the years, out of them the last one, in Neo-Gothic historizing style in the years 1846-1856, is the works of Vienna architect Jiří Wingmüller. Chateau complex with eight wings and four courts, two towers, hippodrome, chateau chapel and 92 meter long green-house is surrounded by wide French and English parks, with two ponds and nearly 60 meters high minaret.
According to the plans of the architect Josef Hardmuth was built in the years 1805-1811 (near Lednice castle) a romantic imitation of Middle-Ages castle, named Janohrad.

Valtice castle is the south pole of the unique Lednice-Valtice cultural landscape. The castle was built not far from former Middle Ages castle, which was re-built to Renaissance chateau under the rule of the house of Liechtenstein. Valtice became the main seat of the House, built with the participation of the leading architects. Austrian Baroque architect J. B. Fischer from Erlach gave the chateau its current shape.
In the year 1992, the whole complex was announced as the natural cultural zone, and in December 1996 was registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Peace Monument (Mohyla Míru)
In the hill above the village Prace, i.e. in the place where decision about the Napoleon's victory in the Battle of the Three Emperors was made, was built a Peace Monument (Mohyla míru) as the commemoration to the dead. Brno priest and professor Alois Slovák initiated its building in the years 1910-1912. Architect Josef Fanta with F. Anýž and Č. Vosmík co-operated in the draft and construction of secession memorial. Museum was added to the monument in the year 1925; today, you can visit the exhibitions connected with the subject of Napoleonic wars.

Moravian Karst
Moravian Karst is located approximately 30 km from Brno, in Blansko region. It represents one of the most beautiful karst areas in the Czech Republic. Four caves are open for public; among others, it is possible to visit outlook tower in the hill Podvrší u Veselice. Since 2001, the outlook tower in the hill Podvrší u Veselice enables magnificent views to substantial part of Moravian karst, Drahanská vrchovina (Drahanská upland), Českomoravská vysočina (Czech-Moravian highlands), Pavlovské kopce (Pavlov hills) etc.

PUNKVA CAVES (PUNKEVNÍ JESKYNĚ)
The Punkva Caves are the part of the longest cave system in the Czech Republic with underground river Punkva, along which it is possible to cruise on the electrical boat with attractive commentary of the guide. There is also Macocha Abyss, deep 138,5 m.
KATERINSKA CAVE (KATEŘINSKÁ JESKYNĚ)
Known thanks to its unique stalactite decoration and excellent acoustics. Live concerts are held several times per year in the cave. Discovery of skeletons of cave bears is also very important.
BALCARKA CAVE (JESKYNĚ BALCARKA)
It is two-storey cave with broken corridors connected by means of chimneys and domes with color stalactite decorations.
SLOUPSKO-SOSUVSKE CAVES (SLOUPSKO-ŠOŠŮVSKÉ JESKYNĚ)
Represent the richest collecting locality of skeletons of cave fauna. Furthermore, skull of Neanderthal man (aged approximately 60 000 years) was found there.

Moravský Krumlov
City Moravský Krumlov has a rich history - in the 13th century it was an important market centre, during the Hussite Wars there acted Calixtines and in the 16th century Unity of Brethren. All events were already centered around Krumlov chateau. Original castle was reconstructed to Renaissance chateau according to the plans of Leonard G. de Bison in the years 1557-1562, and slightly later G. G. Tencallo participated in the project of Baroque adaptations.
At present time, the castle in Moravský Krumlov is open to public only in the parts, where is located famous exhibition the Slav Epic (Slovanská epopej) by Alfons Mucha. Twenty huge paintings, installed in the place of former Knight’s Hall, are looked up by visitors from all over the world.

Telč

Tugendhat Villa
Perhaps the most beautiful view to the skyline of Brno is from the street Černopolní. Here we can find one of the most important buildings of functionalist (Modern Movement) architecture, Tugendhat villa. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, one of the most famous European architects, started to build this villa in June 1929, on the basis of the order of newly-weds Tugendhat. The builder was not restricted from financial point of view; consequently, the materials for the construction and equipment of the villa were selected in top quality, some of them were even transported from the overseas. The couple of Tugendhat moved to the villa in December 1930, but they lived there only till the year 1938, when they had to escape because of the Nazis.
Tugendhat villa has been preserved in its original shape till today, and thanks to its originality has been recorded into the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Castle Žďár nad Sázavou
The real historical centre of the city Žďár nad Sázavou is located in the premises of former Cistercian monastery, today chateau in the ownership of Dr. Radslav Kinský. In the year 1252, its founders, Bocek from Obrany and Smil from Lichtenburk, invited a group of monks from Nepomuk, whom they donated the lots. The monastery reached the most significant blossom in the first half of the 18th century, under the abbot Václav Vejmluva. At that time, Baroque reconstruction, held by the architect Jan Santini Aichl, took place. After the cessation in the year 1784, the premises of monastery were changed into agricultural centre and chateau.

ZOO Brno
In the area of state natural reservation Mniší hora (Monk’s Mountain) in the neighborhood Bystrc was opened Brno zoological garden in the year 1953. The origins of the Zoo were not easy; nevertheless, the Zoo did not ceased, but gradually developed. The total area of today Zoo equals to 65 ha and tour routes are longer than 7 km. Zoo, holding various projects for children all the year round, is an ideal place not only for the seeing of animals, but also the place for recreation and relaxation.
